Description: About The Role Novita is looking for a passionate and committed Speech Pathologist Assistive Technology, who can deliver quality services across the lifespan. This is a full-time position based at our Manton Street office in Hindmarsh. Our Speech Pathologists actively support clinical development through the delivery of our learning program and the provision of clinical supervision to speech pathologists, allied health assistants and students. The Speech Pathologist Assistive Technology will undertake the following activities: Managing a clinical caseload involving the assessment, prescription, implementation and evaluation of a range of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) options. Selecting, applying and evaluating the effectiveness of AAC and their ability to meet client’s goals and objectives in line with organisational practice standards. Designing and executing AAC interventions under the guidance of experienced clinical staff based on evidence-based practice. Providing orientation and performance feedback to Speech Pathologists under their supervision. Assisting in the delivery of training and education programmes to a range of employees within the organisation and other relevant external organisations. Supporting Novita’s commitments to tertiary student education and, where appropriate, be directly involved in student supervision. Skills and Experiences: Qualifications And Experience Along with Registration with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) as a Speech Pathologist, to be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes: Working in the disability sector, within an early intervention, paediatric or adult setting Working with autistic clients and/or clients with a physical disability Experience of assessment and prescription of a range of AAC devices Experience of advocating for the funding of appropriate AAC device Demonstrated performance in supporting the clinical development of other therapists in their assessment and prescription of AAC High-level skills in assessment, clinical recommendation and report writing related to AAC as well as reflective practice A solutions-focused approach to support service and implementation A strong contributor to workplace culture and team morale We’re serious about safeguarding our clients.
